Event Description

The exhibition Deadline emphasizes the final staging of key skills with which design and photography students are equipped at the Planet Pixl School of Advertising. Here, industry functionality and effective production are practiced under considerable pressure and in collaboration with fellow students, lecturers, and a variety of industry related institutions.

Skills are showcased by representing the best works produced within a variety of disciplines such as computer generated graphics, advertising design, drawing, packaging and photography. Students are challenged by inter-disciplinary assignments that run in tandem with one other to mimic reality.

Creative thinking as a problem solving mechanism is nurtured not only as a key element crucial to the development of professionalism, but also to ensure that students are equipped for the constantly changing advertising industry.

Planet Pixl was established in Bloemfontein in 2002 as the first private educational institution of its kind in the Free State.

Oliewenhuis Art Museum is proud to host the sixth annual student exhibition in the Reservoir.  The exhibition opens at 19:00 on 17 November 2011.
